Construction ERP Sales Specialist Job Description

This seller will support both new and existing business, identifying opportunities to gain new customers and increase revenue through our construction management suite of products. The ideal candidate will have experience in the MEP specialty construction segment coupled with construction ERP software experience. In addition, this person should understand the daily duties and challenges of the back office and the field in order to eloquently express the value that our construction management suite can provide to an MEP construction company. Success in this position requires business development skills, industry insight, being able to prepare and present value-driven software presentations, handle contract negotiations, and closing business.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Strategic prospecting and business development planning to targeted accounts.

  • Provide regular reports on sales activities, results, pipeline and forecast management.

  • Partner with sellers to facilitate the sales process for new business opportunities.

  • Work closely with Product Development and Marketing to develop a highly targeted account strategy that reflects an understanding of customers' current processes/workflows and how that translates into the softwares' value proposition.

  • Build partnerships with key roles within each customer organization

  • Develop strategic plans for assigned opportunities.

  • Prepare clear, concise, and professional proposals to prospective and existing customers.

  • Respond to RFI's (Request for Information) and RFP's (Request for Proposal).

  • Provide market feedback and accurate forecasting to the management team to optimize the strategy and positioning of offerings.

  • Deliver product demonstrations, both web-based and on-site.

  • Assist in closing/negotiating contract sales.

  • Attend trade shows and industry conventions.

  • Ability to quickly develop and maintain a high level of knowledge of software products and remain current on product knowledge.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience within the construction industry. Preferably the MEP construction space.

  • A deep understanding of job cost accounting software and project management. Exposure to Viewpoint products is a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Sales experience. Self-starter, high-energy, assertive, results-oriented.

  • Ability to take initiative, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
