We're looking for a highly creative contributor for our Information Experience team to help design and develop the next generation of our integrated product learning solutions and Help. The ideal candidate thinks bigger than traditional Help documentation and is committed to finding innovative ways to improve the learning experience of our users. Bonus points for experience in the construction industry helping construction companies and users (financials and construction management) with their digital and data transformation and helping users succeed through training and mentoring.

You'll be empowered to suggest and experiment with a variety of approaches to information delivery, whether it be text, video, graphics, integrated information in the product UI, or anywhere else users find and use information. You will also engage directly with customers to understand their goals and pain points, and to test solutions.

What You Will Do

  • Develop user-centered learning content that meets user goals with Viewpoint products.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members from Engineering, Product Management, Support, Training, Professional Services, and Marketing to design ideal customer learning experiences

  • Directly engage with customers to understand user learning goals, preferred modalities, pain points, and success of various learning solution approaches through objective user research as part of the Viewpoint User Research team.

  • Assist in migrating content to our next generation structured DITA/XML single-sourcing format and content management system to provide a consistent and unified Help experience. We'll train you to develop your skills in this area to meet team goals.

  • Assist in developing user-centered learning experience requirements, understanding user pain-points, getting feedback, and performing user testing to measure the effectiveness of solutions

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in technical writing, English, rhetoric, journalism, education, or equivalent experience developing successful user-centered learning solutions and curriculum through multi-media, particularly video tutorials. Optionally, we may consider a strong learning content developer and mentor with a construction industry background and portfolio. We prefer 3-5 years of experience and will also consider strong new graduates with a strong aptitude in the learning space and a passion for helping people adopt technology and digital tools.

  • Ability to write high-quality, personable content that meets the needs of specific user personas.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Familiarity with Help authoring tools such as MadCap Flare, easyDITA, or oXygen.

  • Ability to interpret and present technical information effectively to a variety of audiences.

  • Knowledge of planning and designing information architecture and organization for documentation.

  • Be excited about collaborating and communicating with teams and other stakeholders.

  • Highly creative, resourceful, quick learner dedicated to finding new and better ways to solve user problems.

  • Works well independently in a fast-paced environment.

Special Attention Given to Candidates with:

  • Experience with DITA/XML content authoring and usage of content management systems.

  • Familiarity with developing video learning content.

  • Experience with project management, accounting software, or construction industry.

  • Understanding of Agile software development and lean design principles.
