Must reside in Oregon.* Your Role With Us:As a Professional Fee Coder II, you will use your coding knowledge to abstract medical records and accurately assign professional (physician) codes utilizing ICD-10-CM, CPT-4 and HCPCS Level II coding systems for two or more specialties. You will also research payer's coding and reimbursement policies as necessary. Licenses/ Certification/ Registration: * CPC, CCS, CCS-P, or RHIT , or RHIA Certification * If uncertified, required to certify, as department specifies, within one year of hire. Special knowledge, skills, & abilities:* Prefer proficiency utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook * Demonstrates knowledge of, and compliance with hospital Safety Management Program * Maintains confidentiality * Must communicate information effectively and positively in group settings as well as one-on-one with providers * Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize and efficiently manage time * Ability to research federal, commercial, and organizational guidelines to provide coding solutions and education to dept. staff and providers * Thorough knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and disease processes. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interpret medical record documentation and communicate with providersSalem Health Hospitals and Clinics is an equal opportunity employer.
