Your Role With Us:Salem Health is looking for an experienced Obstetrician to join our established hospital-based OB Hospitalist team on an unscheduled (per-diem) basis. The OB Hospitalist team is a critical part of our unit culture overseeing perinatal safety with 3400 births per year at Salem Health. The OB Hospitalist team works both 12 and 24 hour shifts to provide continuous coverage. Responsibilities include attending deliveries, OB triage for unassigned patients, supporting established practices with care of their inpatients and surgical assists as needed, providing back up to certified nurse midwives and family medicine providers, assuming responsibility for unassigned patients, and managing hospital transfers. Salem Hospital has 24 hr in-house anesthesia coverage, consultative maternal fetal medicine services, a high risk antepartum unit and a Level III NICU.Salem Health Women & Children's Services Division includes:10 bed Pediatric Unit which provides inpatient and outpatient services26 bed Mother Baby Unit19 bed Labor & Delivery Unit (12 labor and 7 antepartum beds) with 2 operating rooms and 3 triage rooms27 bed level IIIA Neonatal Intensive Care Unit2nd highest number of deliveries in the state of Oregon - 2,994 in 2023Background/Expertise:Hold a degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine.Hold Board Certification in Obstetrics by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology or the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.5 years of experience as a board certified/board eligible OBGYN PhysicianPerformance of at least 50 deliveries in the past 2 yearsHold a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of OregonWhy Salem Health?Not-for-profit hospital, licensed for 644 acute-care bedsLargest private employer in the state of OregonLevel II trauma center and Life Flight hubBusiest emergency department on the West CoastBaby Friendly designation achieved in 2023Magnet designationEPIC EMRDesignated as a Top Workplace in OregonCommunity members honored Salem Health nine times in the "2022 Best of the Mid-Valley" awardsLive amidst Oregon's Wine Country in the beautiful Willamette Valley1-hour drive to the Pacific Ocean, 1.5-hour drive to Mt.
