Responsibilities

Promote the spiritual dimensions of Recovery Services through spiritual care services. Services include one-to-one meetings with patients to discuss spirituality and spiritual care meetings with groups of patients to discuss spiritual concepts pertinent to the recovery process. Provide resources (e.g. lectures, worksheets, in-service sessions) to promote patient and staff learning related to spirituality. Focus of spirituality services are inclusive and geared towards each individual patient's beliefs. Spiritual services focus on connection with self, others, and/or a higher power.

    Provide spiritual guidance in order to educate patients, customers and staff members concerning the dynamics of Twelve Step spirituality.
  • Facilitate spiritual care meetings for selected patients to ensure that commonly held obstacles to spiritual growth are addressed with the benefit of peer support and feedback.
  • Provide individual spiritual care and guidance in order to identify and address spiritual blocks to recovery while supporting and enhancing individual spiritual resources for growth.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in spiritual or pastoral care in a faith tradition
  • Experience working with diverse faith traditions and/or diverse populations
  • Familiarity with substance use treatment or 12 step programs
  • Current CPR certification or obtain within 30 days
    • Certification must be from American Red Cross or American Heart Association

Preferred Qualifications

  • Units in clinical pastoral education (CPE) programs
  • Board certification or membership of Spiritual Care Association
