Location Site: Salem Hospital Main Campus Department: CT Surgery Clinic Position Type: 1099 option availableYour Role With Us: Salem Hospital is seeking board certified or board eligible cardiothoracic surgeons for flexible staffing in a 1099 capacity as we work to redevelop a well-established business line. Foundationally we operate with two experienced heart surgeons, a dedicated thoracic surgeon and four skilled cardiac Physician Assistants, performing over 350 heart procedures and 175 general thoracic cases annually. Our facility boasts cutting-edge operating rooms and a Cath lab, ensuring the highest quality of care.Patients receive comprehensive services through our Salem Health Medical Group, comprising over 330 providers in 20 specialties. Uniquely positioned in the Willamette Valley, we serve diverse communities including metropolitan and rural populations through these multiple centers of excellence.Background/Expertise:Graduate from an approved school of medicineCompletion of an accredited fellowship program in Cardiothoracic SurgeryBoard Certification or eligibility in Thoracic Surgery by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Applicants who are not Board Certified must be able to demonstrate completion of an ACGME / AOA accredited training program in General Surgery, followed by completion of an ACGME / AOA accredited fellowship training program in General Thoracic and Cardiothoracic Surgery. Applicants must obtain board certification within five (5) years from completion of the applicable Residency and/or Fellowship programCurrent unrestricted M.D. Oregon medical licenseCurrent unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) numberAt least four (4) years licensed experienceDemonstrate experience and current competency, to include the performance of at least 100 general thoracic and/or cardiovascular surgical procedures during the past 24 monthsDemonstrate the performance of at least 100 cardiac surgery procedures in the past 24 monthsDocumented clinical experience including 100 career AVRs (10 of which are high-risk) or 25 AVRS in 12 months or 50 AVRs in 24 months (including 20 AVRs in year before TAVR)Why Salem Hospital?We take pride in our status as an award winning, independent health care institution providing the region with its only Level II trauma center and 644 acute care beds.
