Position Overview

The Epic Revenue Cycle & Billing Coach supports OCHIN members in various areas of optimizing Revenue Cycle and Billing. This role works in partnership with the RC Practice Consultant and Billing Consultant to provide member Revenue Cycle/Billing staff with support to strengthen their Revenue Cycle/Billing operations and metrics. The Revenue Cycle & Billing Coach delivers trainings, technical assistance and collaborates with OCHIN staff and OCHIN members to optimize areas of Revenue Cycle and Billing.

The person in this role will possess a customer-service orientation, with enthusiasm for finding solutions and connecting resources in support of health center goals. They will thrive in a fast-paced environment and excel at finding solutions to complicated questions. Excellent training and meeting-facilitation skills are a must with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. The Revenue Cycle and Billing Coach will partner with the RC Practice Consultant and Billing Consultant to learn from and leverage their knowledge to connect resources and best practices to all aspects of Revenue Cycle staff.


Essential Functions:

  • Prepare pre-consultations reports to identify opportunities for improvements and possible solutions.
  • Prepare report in preparation of denial analysis.
  • Create work queue matrices.
  • Deliver Billing Coaching sessions and Revenue Cycle trainings.
  • Prepare post training/consult reports.
  • Review RC Scorecard with members.
  • Perform Financial Cube reviews with members and internal.
  • Assist in the design and delivery of trainings via multiple modalities, including in-person onsite consultations, one-on-one, group setting, virtually, and by phone.
  • Serve as a resource for members on key content areas - connecting members with the tools and resources they need to reach their goals.
  • Assist in providing technical assistance to members around identified needs.
  • Assist in the coordination of member consultations, including planning meeting logistics, communicating with members, preparing content for meetings, and coordinating follow-up.
  • Travel may be required to member sites as needed for consultations, assessments, trainings, etc. up to 40%; but most support is done via Zoom or Teams meetings.
  • Develop and maintain positive and professional relationships with partners, management, and employees.
  • Embody the organization's culture of service by demonstrating exceptional customer service for internal and external customers.
  • Proactively manage work and communications to ensure that activities and projects are meeting stakeholder needs and are moving forward as expected.
  • Consistently meet or exceed OCHIN's service level expectations (SLEs) with regards to communicating with members and customers.
  • Appropriately escalate barriers, risks, and issues in accordance with OCHIN's escalation policy.
  • Lead change by modeling behavior and influencing partners.
  • Collaborate with internal and/or external partners to ensure effective integration of improvements and to foster organizational learning.
  • Partner across teams to make recommendations to update best practice workflows.
  • Actively pursue continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements


  • Minimum of 5 years of Revenue Cycle and Billing experience in Ambulatory clinic or Primary Care setting, 10 Years of applicable experience desired.
  • Desired Certifications include CPA, BS Accounting.
  • Experience working in a billing office is required.
  • EPIC Certifications in PB/HB Resolute, and PB/HB Claims are highly desired.
  • Must have strong understanding of revenue cycle and financial principles.
  • Experience in or with a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) is preferred.
  • Experience in or with Critical Access Hospitals or Rural hospitals is highly desired.
  • Experience with EHR software, EPIC Resolute is required.
  • Experience with PB and HB is required.
  • Experience in PB Claims, HB Claims, SBP, Prelude, Cadence and EpicCare modules a plus.
  • Experience facilitating in person training is required.
  • Experience facilitating trainings via Zoom is required.

Work Location and Travel Requirements

OCHIN is a 100% remote organization with no physical corporate office location. Employees work remotely from home and many of our positions also support our member organizations on-site for new software installations. Nationwide travel is determined based on OCHIN business needs. Please inquire during the interview process about travel requirements for this position.

Base Pay Overview

The typical offer range for this role is minimum to midpoint, with the midpoint ($106,170) representing the average pay in a national market scope for this position. Please keep in mind that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual salary offer will consider a wide range of factors directly relevant to this position, including, but not limited to, skills, knowledge, training, responsibility, and experience, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
