Your Role With Us:The PSA /HWA/ Analyst will primarily be responsible for comprehensively assessing and analyzing safety and security reports related to combative patients, employee injuries, patient grievances, and other related incidents in the healthcare setting. They will ensure accurate, timely, and meticulous review and documentation processes, helping to enhance patient and staff safety standards. Conduct investigation on and facilitate reimbursements for stolen property. Complete annual facilities risk assessments to adhere to Joint Commission standards. Complete and follow up on threat assessment investigations that affect the organization and employees within.Core Functions:1. Review and Analysis:Review and triage RL6 Datix files.Examine, investigate, and follow up on incidents involving combative patients, employee injuries, and hostile work environment allegations in a timely manner.Conduct thorough analysis using ReportExec, review of EPIC chart notes, and gather any necessary additional data.2. Investigation:Conduct investigations into reported incidents, which may include video footage review, officer follow-ups, and consultation with other departments and/or Law Enforcement.For combative patient incidents, consult with HWA when necessary.3. Coordination and Communication:Liaise with officers for follow-ups as needed.Engage with unit leadership for further information or clarification.Collaborate with internal business partners to mediate concerns and identify gaps in training/safety.4. Threat AssessmentsConduct Threat assessmentsCoordinate with law enforcement agencies for additional information and case support.5. Education and Prevention:Identify the underlying cause of incidents, specifically employee injuries, and provide necessary education to reduce recurrence chances.6. Facility and Threat Assessment:Complete the annual facilities assessment to identify and mitigate potential risks by Joint Commission standards.Facilitate threat assessments as required.7. ReimbursementsInvestigate lost/stolen property.Facilitate reimbursement for lost property.8. Fleet ManagementDaily inspection managementMaintenance schedulingAED inspection management in compliance with Joint Commission standards.9. Time Management:Efficiently manage and prioritize tasks, with an understanding that the average RL file time varies, and some cases may require extended review periods.10. Team Collaboration:Collaborate with Operation Supervisors, Training team and HWA representatives to review and manage reports of workplace violence and threats.Collaborate with internal training team to identify gaps in officer and medical staff knowledge and skills based on collected RL information.Initiate communication with medical staff on incidents involving security conduct and/or violent or disruptive behaviors.Participate in candidate interviews as needed.11. Reporting and Feedback:Regularly update superiors on the status of investigations and provide feedback on potential improvements to security and safety protocols.Regularly attend meetings and provide feedback on current security initiatives.Track and trend collected data surrounding employee injuries, thefts, and other significant metrics.
