Liner Cell Operator I

We are currently recruiting for a Liner Cell Operator I to join the Benchmade Knife Company team. The Liner Cell Operator is responsible for choosing correct fixtures, setting up the grinder, drill/tap machines, and supporting cell equipment, while also maintaining part tolerance once the machines are set up. In addition, the operator will shut down and clean machines, conduct changeovers, and perform standard maintenance. The Liner Cell Operator is responsible or reading PCI's and job travelers for product/operation specifications, and uses a variety of inspection gages, such as micrometers, calipers, snap/drop/pin/thread and block gages to ensure quality specifications are met.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

    Perform repetitive operations.
  • Perform visual inspection of parts ensuring cosmetic requirements are met.
  • Inspect manufactured parts and identify dimensional quality issues.
  • Consistently meet production and quality requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret PCI and job routers.
  • Maintain coolant and media levels and correct as appropriate.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work area.
  • Utilize critical thinking to problem solve and resolve issues.
  • Complete all necessary documentation.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and 1 year of general manufacturing is required, preferably with small parts handling. Equivalency to the qualification standard will also be considered.
  • Able to understand and follow written/oral instruction in English
  • Strong attention to detail and good hand eye coordination.
  • Prefer experience with hand inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, refractometer and gages).
  • Able to work in a manufacturing environment (exposure to dust, noise, oils and coolants, abrasives, heat, cold, adhesives, as well as automated and manual machinery).
